The Illusion Of Time

In physics, the Planck time, (tP), is the unit of time in the system of natural units known as Planck units. It is the time required for light to travel, in a vacuum, a distance of 1 Planck length.

The Planck time is the unique combination of the gravitational constant G, the relativity constant c, and the quantum constant h, to produce a constant with units of time. All scientific experiments and human experiences happen over billions of billions of billions of Planck times, making any events happening at the Planck scale hard to detect.

아래의 글은 전문가의 엄밀하고 정리된 글이 아니라, 나(이 블로그 저자)의 즉흥적 편린에 따른 토막글이자 미완성 글임. 그러므로 복사나 인용 등으로 다른 곳에 실어 옮길 만한 가치가 없음을 알림니다.  무명의 특허국 청년이었던 아인슈타인은 1905년 중요한 3편의 논문을 발표한다. 브라운 운동에 관한 것과 광전효과 그리고 특수상대성 이론이 그것이다. 사실 여기에 어려운 수학이 쓰인 것은 아니다. 유명한 특수상대성 이론도 고등학교 수준의 미적분학으로 가능하다. 그렇지만 처음에 쉽게 이해하지 못하는 것은 그만큼 고정관념과 편견에 의한 믿음을 바꾸기 힘들다는 사실을 보여주는 예이기도 하다. 물론 그가 비관성계를 포함하는 일반상대성이론을 완성하기 까지에는 미분기하와 텐서 등 많은 수학적 훈련과 십년 이상의 시간이 필요로 했다. 그에게 노벨상을 안겨준 것은 상대성 이론이 아니라  광전효과에 의한 광양자 가설이었다. 그리고 이것은 초기 양자이론을 형성하는 데 많은 공헌을 하게된다. 그렇지만 아인슈타인은 후일 양자론의 코펜하겐 해석(비결정론적 확률해석)에 강하게 반대했고, 1927년 솔베이 3차회의에서 닐스 보어에게 빛의 상자 문제를 제기하고 그것이 불확정성 원리에 위배된다고 공격했다. 밤을 세워 고민한 보어는 광자가 방출될 때 반동력이 생기며 중력장에 놓인 시계위치에 불확정성이 초래된다고 답함으로써 그의 입지를 더욱 견고하게 했다. 아인슈타인은 여기서 물러나지 않고 5년 후 EPR paradox(아인슈타인,포돌스키,로젠의 역설)를 들고나와 다시 양자론을 공격한다. 여기서 문제가 되는 것은 아인슈타인의 분리, 즉 국지성에 관한 것인데 보어는 허용될 수 없다고 말했다. 그리고 이것은 이후 벨의 부등정리와 연결된다. 말년의 아인슈타인은 양자론에서 벗어나 통일장 이론에 매진하게 되는데, 불행히도 당시에 알고있던 중력과 전자기력 만으로는 결코 이룰 수 없는 꿈이었다. 여기 그의 많은 어록에서도 알 수 있듯이 아인슈타인은 인류의 평화 그리고 인간의 자유와 존엄함에도 관심과 노력을 기울였다. 그는 사실 세상을 멀리하고 혼자 조용히 연구에 몰두하는 것을 좋아했지만, 사회의 일원으로서 책임에 대한 부분도 외면하지 못했다. 그래서..... Seolleung(or Seonjeongneung) comprises of the Seolleung Royal Tomb (선릉) and the Jeongneung Royal Tomb (정릉).  Located in downtown Seoul, this place offers tranquil and pleasant promenades for visitors. Seonjeongneung houses the burial mounds of King Seongjong (1469-1494), his wife Queen Jeonghyeon, and King Jungjong (1506-1544) of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). Upon entering the grounds, you can see a red gate (the red colour denoting holiness) with a taegeuk (yin-yang) symbol. The stone paths leading to the sacrificial building are noteworthy because there are two stone paths—the elevated path is for the dead King and the lower one is for living people. In the past the memorial rites were performed in the sacrificial building. Small sculptures on the eaves called Japsang were carved in the shape of animals such as monkeys and were believed to exorcise evil spirits. Next to the sacrificial building, there is a pavilion and a tombstone which is obviously the tomb of the King. Sculptures of sheep and tigers surround the tomb and are guardians of the dead King. There is also a statue of a military officer bearing a sword. In front of the tomb is an outstanding sight called the 'Mangjuseok,' which is a pair of stones designed to guide the dead King to his tomb. Unlike the tombs of the Kings, the queen’s tomb, Wanghureung, is simple. It doesn’t have any pavilions or sacrificial buildings, but is surrounded by only stone sculptures as guardians. Seonjeongneung has a lush forest, and benches on the promenade provide an ideal place to relax. There are numerous small hills with clusters of trees that create a border between the mystery and serenity of the royal tombs and the hustle and bustle of downtown Seoul.
